‘Hawaii Five-0’ Season 5 Jumpstarts Filming With Traditional Blessing; Cast Alex O’Loughlin Excited For Upcoming Season

"Hawaii Five-0" season 5 starts filming with a traditional Hawaiian blessing as cast Alex O'Loughlin said that he's excited for the upcoming season.

According to TheWrap, the cast and crew of "Hawaii Five-0" season 5 have jumpstarted the production with a traditional blessing "in honor of its host Hawaiian culture, while on location in Waikiki."

Among the cast present in the ceremony, officiated by Kauila Kawelo Barber, were Alex O'Loughlin, Daniel Dae Kim, Dennis Chun, Grace Park, Taylor Wiley and Al Harrington.

Meanwhile, cast Alex O'Loughlin told the HawaiiNewsNow that he's very excited about the upcoming "Hawaii Five-0" season 5.

"I'm very excited to be here, I'm very excited to be going into a season five. It's hard to get a show on the air, it's even harder to make it a hit. I don't know what the recipe is but we're just going to do what we did every year and work really hard together," cast Alex O'Loughlin said.

Showrunner Peter Lenkov also told the publication that they are following a "theme of resolution" this year, with 25 episodes laid out for "Hawaii Five-0" season 5.

"So a lot of things that were left out in the open will resolve this year. There's a lot of fan favorite characters that will be back. I think there a lot of great surprises and I think there's a lot of stories left to tell," the showrunner said.

The premiere episode will be shown at Sunset on the Beach in Waikiki on September 13, BizJournals reported. The date is about two weeks off from the official date of airing in the US on September 26, as announced by CBS.

The website also noted, based on Peter Lenkov's tweet, that all the cast and crew of "Hawaii Five-0" will spend Friday prior to the big premiere sharing a cake with 100 candles to celebrate the series' 100th episode.
