Google Maps iOS Update: The Google Maps application has been recently updated to version 3.2.0 which guarantees a better search engine and “Explore” feature. It also lets you view your upcoming schedule from Gmail on the map.

The updated Google Maps has made searching for a place easier by adding brief descriptions on the map to allow the users to get an idea on the possible destination. If you are out or simply trying to decide which restaurant, bar, or store to go to, you will be able to choose faster and more effectively after reading the descriptions featured on the map.

Google also declared that it has improved the “Explore” feature to allow its users to view the on-going or upcoming activities based on the area and the time of day. Users can also see the schedule of appointments and reservations on the map, wherein all the information are drawn from Gmail.

On another note, the app Smarty Pins, a trivia game on geography, can be easily accessed in the Google Map’s sidebar. This is so users can test and apply their knowledge directly on the map.

Google also tweaked its voice recognition feature for both Android and iOs last week. The update was reported to fix misinterpreted words using snappy voice commands. As a result, users can now correct words while the app will attempt to incorporate the corrections in the future.
