The Legend Of Korra Book 3 Spoilers: Red Lotus Speculations And The Villains' Connection To Zaofu

"The Legend of Korra" Book 3 has introduced a new villainous group with the Red Lotus, and spoilers and speculations have surfaced regarding their motivations.

"I have read an article that speculates them to be anarchists who wanted freedom from all the rulers (Fire Lord, Earth Queen, etc.)," wrote AvatarJPT on the Avatar Wiki. "Bad monarchy as seen on the Ba Sing Se lead Zaheer to form his group and recruit other members."

"Remember the bandits who said Korra was on the wrong side of the fight after failing to get the tax shipments, and the Suyin Beifong who expressed her dislike of the Earth Queen, thinking that monarchy is an outdated instituation."

"Makes sense. Amon believed that bending was the cause of every war. But it can also be argued that rulers are the cause of every war," commented Fate has Intervened. "Chin the Conqueror, Sozin, Azulon, Ozai, Unalaq and The Earth Queen are the major examples."

With Suyin Beifong's discontent of the monarchy system, it is rumored that the city of Zaofu could have something to do with the Red Lotus.

"I’m not hallucinating right? I’m sure I didn’t drink cactus juice! Did anyone notice that the city of Zaofu looks like a lotus?" asked F.L.Z. on Avatar the Last Airbender Online.

"The Legend of Korra" will grace the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con on July 25, and co-creator Bryan Konietzko has some information on the panel.

"The Korra SDCC panel is on Friday, July 25 at 11:15 am -12:15 pm, Ballroom 20," wrote Konietzko on Tumblr. "Mike and I are super excited to be joined by Korra panel veterans Janet Varney (Korra), Seychelle Gabriel (Asami), and David Faustino (Mako), and first-time Korra panelists Mindy Sterling (Lin Beifong) and John Michael Higgins (Varrick)."

"We'll be showing a new, never-been-leaked Book 3 episode, and some other cool sneak peeks. Mike and I, along with various special guests, will be doing three signings (that I know of) during the convention. More info on all of that soon. Looking forward to seeing you in San Diego!"
