‘24: Live Another Day’ Season 2: Will Jack Bauer Return After Finale With Season 10 Renewal? Showrunner Hints Decision Is ‘Up In The Air’ [SPOILERS]

"24: Live Another Day" finale ended with a bang, and now fans are wondering if Jack Bauer will return for "Live Another Day" season 2, or season 10 of the whole "24" franchise. Showrunner Manny Coto hinted that the decision whether or not to renew "24: Live Another Day" for a new season is still "up in the air." There's hope!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Manny Coto is open to the possibility of bringing Jack Bauer back for "24: Live Another Day" season 2. All he and executive producer Jon Cassar need is a great storyline.

"All it really takes is a story that fires us up. That's what got us excited about doing this season," Coto told THR. "I think what would draw us back if that were ever to happen - and that's definitely up in the air - would be we or somebody presents an interesting take on Jack, on Jack's character, and where he is, which would suggest a great season."

Cassar told TVGuide, following the "Live Another Day" finale, that the "24" franchise is "still open" for a new season.

"What's nice about it, just like with the ending we had before, is that it's still open. Whether '24' comes back or not, Jack Bauer is still out there. That's what I liked about the ending, and I think that's what a lot of people are going to like about it."

"The fact that we came out after such a long absence and still struck a nerve and were relevant, I think it's pretty exciting. In saying all that, it's really hard to think we might not come back. It's really hard to say, "This is it." So, it's always a possibility," Cassar added.

Spoiler alert! One thing's for sure: Jack Bauer survived "24: Live Another Day," meaning there's always potential for a season 2 (or season 10).

Seriable.com also notes that the "Live Another Day" finale ended with a silent clock:

"While this device has been used previously (albeit rarely) throughout the series to signal death, surrender, sadness, etc, its use at the end of Day 9 places an inevitable question mark over the future of the show, which remains uncertain at Fox," the publication writes.
