Tiffany, Seohyun And Taeyeon Perform The Minions' 'Banana' Song On 'Channel Girls' Generation'
On the latest episode of their variety show, some members of Girls' Generation showed off their inner minions.
On the August 11 episode of "Channel Girls' Generation," Seohyun, Tiffany, and Taeyeon channeled the yellow, overall wearing minions made famous in the "Despicable Me" series. The three performed an a cappella rendition of the minions' "Banana Song."
The three members of the Girls' Generation project group TaeTiSeo got into the song, and also performed a lip sync version of the tune.
TaeTiSeo were sitting in what appears to be a dressing room behind set while performing the rendition during a self-camera segment of the show.
Member Seohyun seemed particularly into it, and was the lead vocalist while Taeyeon and Tiffany provided the backing vocals of the a cappella version.
The production team of "Channel Girls' Generation" used computer graphics to transform TaeTiSeo into minions, featuring the three with cartoon overalls and lab goggles.
Both Taeyeon and Seohyun provided the Korean voices of "Despicable Me" characters Edith and Margo in both the first and second film.
Girls' Generation's "Channel Girls' Generation" (or "Channel Soshi") airs on OnStyle. It premiered on July 21, as Girls' Generation kicked off promotions for their comeback song "Party."
The minions are very popular in Asia. A fan-made video of the minions performing "Growl" by Girls' Generation's lablemates EXO recently went viral. Similarly, minions figurines in McDonald's Happy Meals caused Koreans to line up for hours outside of stores to get the toys.
Girls' Generation will release the album "Lion Heart" on August 18 and 19.
