P NATION Announces Jessi's Departure From Label

On July 6, Jessi's label P NATION, which was founded by "Gangnam Style" hitmaker PSY, announced that the rapper has decided to part ways with the label after three years following her contract expiration.

In P NATION's statement, they said:

"Hello, this is P NATION.

First of all, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who has sent a lot of love and interest to Jessi.

This is notice to inform you that our exclusive contract with Jessi recently expired.

Being with the company since the beginning until now as the first artist of P NATION, Jessi has become an artist who is loved even more by fans through her warm passion and constant efforts. The way that she conducts herself and her achievements have become a positive and enjoyable source of motivation for all of the members of P NATION.

We will continue to cheer on Jessi's future works as an artist, and we will continuously support her various activities.

We thank many fans who cherish Jessi, and we ask that you continue to give her warm encouragement and support.

Thank you."

Jessi signed with P NATION back in January 2019, and became the first artist under the newly-established label at the time.

Under P NATION, Jessi released numerous hit songs, such as "Who Dat B," "Drip," "NUNU NANA," "What Type of X," "Cold Blooded," and "ZOOM."

Following the announcement of her leaving P NATION, many fans have expressed their shock over the decision, especially as Jessi has finally been seeing steady success in both variety shows and her music in recent years.

Her decision to part ways with P NATION arose numerous speculations. Many have brought up Jessi's past remarks of her showing an intention, although jokingly, in joining Yoo Hee Yeol's label Antenna during an episode of "Sixth Sense."

Others also began speculating that Jessi is planning on launching her own one-man label, so that she has more freedom and control in her activities. Some have also brought up that Jessi might want to focus on her health more and start her own family.

Hours after her departure's announcement and the ongoing speculations behind it, Jessi took to her Instagram to personally release a statement and address some of the fans' concerns.

In her statement, Jessi asks fans to give her time to collect her thoughts and breathe, especially as she hasn't rested since the beginning of her career in 2005. She also clarifies that she is not retiring.
