LE SSERAFIM Sakura Goes Candid About Having Had 'Celebrity Disease' in Early Days of Debut
Recently on October 24, Weverse Magazine shared an interview that they had with LE SSERAFIM member Sakura. Here, the Japanese K-pop idol sat down to talk about numerous things, such her fellow LE SSERAFIM members, their documentary, the kind of idol she wants to be, and more,
In particular, an interesting part of her interview is when she candidly talked about the privileges of being a celebrity, which can at times lead to one getting the "celebrity disease."
The "celebrity disease" is when a celebrity becomes haughty due to their elevated status, and is quite common occurrence. Some idols who have admitted to getting this are Jeon Somi, and Stray Kids Han, among others.

The topic came when it was revealed that Sakura usually can't go on rides at the amusement park as she hates scary things. However, she is able to brave through as if she is "fearless" when she is is working with LE SSERAFIM.
To this, Sakura expresses her desires not to let her fears become a limitation, especially as she doesn't want her fears to become a "burden" on others.
"I hate to be the person whose issues are bringing things down when there's something we have to do, so if it's something I can do if I just have a little courage, I'll do it," Sakura said.
Weverse then pointed out that due to Sakura's status as an idol, she could ask for some things to be changed if she found an issue with something while on set.
To this, Sakura confessed that there was a time when she felt entitled when she was younger. However, she also shared how she grew and learned to treat others.
"I think I was immature, self-centered and only thinking of myself when I first debuted," she said.
Sakura Shares Her Learnings as an Idol
Sakura continued, "But I learned there's certain things you should say and do to be considerate of others and build a good relationship the longer I've been an idol."

A big learning that she had while working an as idol is while a celebrity's abilities and talents are important, what is more important is what kind of person they are.
She then mentions what kind of celebrity she wants to be, saying, "If you're going to work together for a long time and make it enjoyable, the people you're working with have to want to work with you, too. That's the kind of person I want to be, and that's the kind of group I want LE SSERAFIM to be, too."
