TWICE Nayeon Accused of Copying BLACKPINK Jennie For Latest Appearance
On April 16, 2024, TWICE member Nayeon was seen attending a special event for Japanese cosmetics brand Naming in Japan. The idol was recently named their global brand ambassador for the make-up brand, adding another brand deal under the TWICE member's belt.
For the event, Nayeon wore a pink minidress adorned with rosette details near the shoulders and waist. She shocked fans with her newly dyed pink-orange hair, which was styled with adorable crimps and space buns at the top. The idol matched her pink dress with rosy make-up.
While fans adored how she looked, some people believed she was copying BLACKPINK member Jennie.
People pointed out that for Jennie's appearance on "The Seasons: Lee Hyo Ri's Drive," Jennie was spotted wearing an identical dress but in white. At the time, Jennie went viral for her gorgeous outfit, effectively sparking the rosette trend in South Korea.
BLINKs accused JYP Entertainment and Nayeon of constantly trying to copy Jennie, noting that they didn't even try to hide during this attempt. Someone even joked that it looked like Nayeon was able to sing "Miss Korea," the same song Jennie sang on Lee Hyo Ri's show

Fans were quick to defend Nayeon, who noted that the rosette trend has seen a revival after brands such as Coperni and Yves Saint Laurent started incorporating it in their work again. Online, rosettes are considered the latest Y2K trend by fashionistas.
Others pointed out that it is just a dress and that it should not be sparking any hate. Many believed it was a stretch to assume Nayeon was copying Jennie, especially since the dress is readily found in stores and is not considered an exclusive piece.
Others tried to shift the focus of the situation, focusing on how pretty Nayeon is and how well the dress suited her.
