Girl's Day Minah Wins Best New Actress Award For Debut Film 'HOLLY'

Girl's Day member Minah received high praise and critical acclaim for her breakout movie role in HOLLY.

The idol singer and rookie thespian won the award for Best New Actress at the 13th annual Gwangju International Film Festival for her role in the movie HOLLY as a high school student, Wani, who aspires to become a ballerina.

The young pop star won the hearts of audience members in June with the film's release and again with the film festival judges this week.

Minah, however, was unable to accept the award in person as, according to her agency DreamTea Entertainment, she had a prior commitment in Thailand as the honorary ambassador for Plan Korea, an organization doing charity work in the southeast Asian country.

The Girl's Day singer is showing no signs of putting a halt to her acting career either. She is currently filming her second full-length feature film You Can Borrow My Father, in which she plays the role of a teenage girl who rents a father from a secondhand website.

Fans can expect to see another fantastic performance from Minah when her next movie hits the theaters sometime next year.
