‘Black Panther’ Cast Rumors: Chadwick Boseman Being Eyed For Lead Role? [VIDEO] Fictional Country Of Wakanda Not Appearing In 'Avengers: Age Of Ultron'

The 'Black Panther' movie is still a rumored project, but Marvel is already making its due diligence to make preparations, specifically on the casting front. But the movie is not expected as soon as we think. The anticipated reference to the fictional nation of Wakanda in "Avengers: Age Of Ultron" is still not confirmed.

Firstly, one of the rumored candidates for the role of T'Challa is Chadwick Boseman. From The Daily Superhero:

"It has long since been rumored the 42 and Draft Day actor may be in contention for the role of Black Panther and while he was on the red carpet for Draft Day he joined Rudd in the 'Hall of Fame of Terrible Liars' when he got the biggest smile on his face when asked about the Marvel super hero rumor."

The reference was about Paul Rudd's denials on the "Ant Man" role. No one believed him and it turned out to be true. It's Rudd's job to deny, and it's the writers' job to probe and ask questions. It would lead to an awkward reveal but both parties move on.

Boseman was interviewed by Black Tree TV on the red carpet for "Draft Day" and his reaction seemed to reveal more than what he intended. The question is raised at around 3:30. The grin says it all.

Meanwhile, there were rumblings that the Avengers filming in South Africa was meant to be a representation for Wakanda. There are references to Vibranium in the film and one scene was described as Ultron wanting to get more of the metal. The first scenes shot were in Johannesburg, South Africa but that was not supposed to be Wakanda. From SA Breaking News:

"'The great thing about this movie is that they are shooting Johannesburg as Johannesburg. Often you will find filmmakers will shoot in Johannesburg and portray the location as Los Angeles. This time around the first 10 minutes of the film will be of Johannesburg,' Gauteng Film Commission's (GFC) Desmond Mthembu, told Eyewitness News."

We're not saying that there will NOT be any appearance of Wakanda in the film, but that is not what they shot in Johannesburg.
