Countdown To KCON: 5 Reasons To Attend KCON 2014

On July 25, KCON organizers announced the additions of a free market and outdoor stage to the dynamic programming of KCON 2014.

KCON will be double the size with a packed programming schedule, and two nights of K-Pop concerts.

KCON 2014 extends beyond a focus on K-Pop to encompass all things Hallyu including K-Drama, Korean food, and a “League of Legends” exhibition match.

 Here are five reasons to attend KCON 2014.

1. K-Pop fans will have the opportunity to see top performers including Girls’ Generation, G-Dragon, CNBLUE, B1A4, and BTS. KCON 2014 will feature two concerts, with G-Dragon, B1A4, IU, Teen Top, and VIXX performing on Saturday, August 9. Girls’ Generation, CNBLUE, BTS, Jung Joon Young, and SPICA will perform on Sunday, August 10. While two nights of concerts and fan engagement activities are exciting, there are more reasons to attend KCON.

2. K-Drama stars Lee Seung Gi, Yoo In Na, and Lee Seo Jin will be special guests in attendance. KCON 2014 will provide an unprecedented opportunity to see these stars in the United States.

3. Fans of the variety show “Running Man” have the opportunity to participate in unique games at the Running Fan activity tent. Running Fan was present at KCON 2013, but the group will have a stronger presence this year, with unique programming that includes K-Pop Charades and Giant Jenga.

4. There will be a greater focus on Korean culture and Korean food. The “Taste of KCON” will be located in the free market and will provide KCON attendees with the opportunity to sample some of the best food that can be found in Los Angeles Koreatown.

5. Special guest programming which will include panels and demonstrations, will provide engaging and entertaining sessions during KCON. Viki will present vocalist Eric Nam, host of the popular Arirang TV program "After School Club," which brings international K-Pop fans closer to their favorite idols. Hallyu enthusiasts will have to opportunity to try out K-Pop dance through MVP’s Dance All Day which features acclaimed K-Pop choreographer Aimee Lee Lucas.

Tickets are still available for KCON 2014 through Ticketmaster and Powerhouse. KCON 2014 will take place on August 9 through August 10 at the Los Angeles Memorial Sports Arena.
