On May 6, Stray Kids attended the Met Gala 2024 and became one of the event's main highlights. The members, namely Bang Chan, Lee Know, Changbin, Hyunjin, Han, Felix, Seungmin, and I.N stole the spotlight with their presence, visuals, and Tommy Hilfiger fits.
Stray Kids didn't just garner attention online and at the venue for their appearance, but also became the first-ever K-pop group to attend a Met Gala with full members. The octet also engaged in a short interview with the event's hosts alongside Tommy Hilfiger.
Fans were more than happy to see the "S-CLASS" singers flaunt their dashing visuals on the venue and even expressed their gratitude to Tommy Hilfiger for inviting the members to the prestigious fashion event.
While the fandom and K-pop community celebrated Stray Kids' achievement and raved about their presence at the Met Gala, several on-site photographers unfortunately spoiled the party.
On social media platform X (Twitter), numerous videos were uploaded online, showing several members inside the paparazzi making offensive remarks during the boy group's red carpet introduction.
According to the transcripts, the paparazzi made comments regarding Stray Kids' facial expressions, energy, and one even claimed they members were "robot-like."

Paparazzi #1: "I've never seen so many unemotional faces in my life."

Paparazzi #1: "Yeah, right?"
Paparazzi #2: "Oh, the reveal. Now we're going to have to do it again. Maybe now would be better this time."
Paparazzi #1: "Now let's do it with feelings!"
The clip immediately went viral on the platform, which led STAYs to call out the paparazzi, expressing how disrespectful and unprofessional they were.

I am so upset. The fashion industry is still so racist. It’s gotten slightly more accepting because of how big Kpop has gotten, but you can tell that people still don’t respect asian artists.
