A.KOR's Record Label Halting Activities Due To Responses To Kemy's Park Bom Diss Track

Due to the intense backlash caused by Kemy's Park Bom diss track, A.KOR's rise to fame may be over as soon as it began.

On August 4, an apology surfaced on social media portals that allegedly came from Kemy, but DOO Republic confirmed that this was done by an impostor.

"Kemy is currently not active on SNS," said the label to SNS CNBC. "The person who posted an apology towards Park Bom via Twitter and Instagram is an impostor posing as Kemy."

Shortly thereafter, DOO Republic released a statement saying that A.KOR's promotional activities will be stopped after this week due to the controversy.

"It was only a diss track meant for submission into a rap competition, nothing more and nothing less, which is why we have remained quiet on the topic. However, as an 18-year-old girl is in great shock over all this, we will finish this week's set schedule and then wrap up promotions."

The sudden fallout of this scandal is causing polarizing reactions from observers.

"I do not understand how a company can just brush this off so easily as a 'rap,'" commented misvickydablackj on allkpop. " As women, I believe that we should pick each other up, especially when other people are tearing us down. So to me what she did was wrong."

"It's all part of her label's plans to get her attention," wrote k007 on August 5. "Negative publicity is still a way to get her name out there. But sadly, she will have a lot of haters she has to deal with now."

"Poor girl, she had nice flow," added angeler88. "Too bad her career is down the toilet. A.KOR you won't be missed."

Some believe diss tracks are par for the course in the underground rap world. Consequently, supporters of the YG ladies have begun uploading their own diss tracks in response to A.KOR and Kemy as well.
