Could Jennifer Lopez and Casper Smart be back together? The "American Idol" judge was reportedly seen driving around Los Angeles with her ex-boyfriend on Monday (Aug. 18).

And what could this mean for Lopez's supposed boy toy, Maksim Chmerkovskiy?

"They are still friends," a source told E! News about Lopez and Smart. "They are not back together."

It sure seemed that way on Monday when TMZ reported that the pair had been out and about in a convertible. When Lopez spotted the photogs following them, she allegedly ducked to hide her face. Smart purportedly drove Lopez back to her house.

Another source told E! News that the former couple are "great friends" but there is "nothing romantic going on between the two of them."

Lopez and Smart ended their relationship in June after more than two years together.

"Casper has an enormous amount of respect for Jennifer and her kids," another insider told E! News. "He still loves her and cares about the kids. Nothing has really changed since they split regarding their relationship and nothing romantic is going on."

Thankfully for Lopez's alleged boyfriend, Dancing With The Star's Maksim Chmerkovskiy, it appears that the exes are just friends.

Although the relationship between JLo and the Ukrainian dancer has yet to be confirmed, the two were rumored to have been "affectionate" at Lopez's 45^th birthday celebration.

"They seemed really happy to see each other," a source told E! "She thinks he is grat, but she is being very careful."

Chmerkovskiy has remained coy when asked by the media about his relationship with the singer. JLo has stayed mum on the subject entirely.

But has Lopez been burned by too many relationships gone wrong?

Not yet says E! According to their source, Jennifer "still believes true love exists and wants to find that someday."
