Cuddlr App Connects Strangers For 'Platonic Cuddling': Because Sometimes All You Need Is A Cuddle!

You know, how everyone says there's an app for everything? There's even one for hooking up! But what if you just want a platonic...cuddle? Well now, there's one for that too.

Introducing Cuddlr a brand new "location-based social-meeting app for cuddling." Cuddlr is billed as a "no pressure," sex-free version of Tinder and Grindr and works in much the same way as traditional hook-up apps.

You'll need a Facebook account to register as it uses the social media site as a source of your Cuddlr profile photo. Cuddlr doesn't reveal gender or age, so filtering is only by appearance.

Tapping on a photo sends a cuddle request, and the recipient then has 15 minutes to accept or reject it. If they accept, you can send them a message. You can only, however, exchange short messages, just enough to provide location and time of the hug. Cuddlr will then show both users real-time walking directions to help them find one another.

Following a cuddle, users can rate their cuddle partner with a thumbs-up if everything goes smoothly. They can also report the user if they never showed up or the experience was "too grabby".

What happens when you meet is up to you. Although, the founders encourage users to keep the experience completely platonic. "Unlike some other apps, Cuddlr is strictly about PG-rated experiences. Keep the cuddle a cuddle!" the app's introduction reads.

Founder of the Cuddler tells Salon:

"I think as a culture we're ready to consider cuddling as more than just something that happens before or after sex, but as something worth pursuing in its own right."

Sounds interesting? ? Let's see what the others think of the new cuddling app.
