2NE1 Fans Celebrate 'I Am The Best' Reaching 100 Million YouTube Views

Although the song was released in 2011, 2NE1's "I Am the Best" has regained international attention this month.

On October 5, the iconic 2NE1 single reached a rarified milestone amongst K-pop acts by garnering 100 million views with the "I Am the Best" music video on YouTube. Coupled with their recent achievement on the World Digital Songs chart, 2NE1 fans (Blackjacks) around the world are congratulating CL, Minzy, Dara and Bom for their achievements this month.

"Congrats 2NE1 and Blackjacks," tweeted 2NE1 member Dara on Twitter. "Good job everybody, good job. Thank you so much! We love you!"

Only a handful of K-pop acts have music videos with more than 100 million views on YouTube, including Psy with "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman" and Girls' Generation with "I Got A Boy," "Gee" and "The Boys." Released in July of 2011, "I Am the Best" remains 2NE1's most watched music video.

Meanwhile, "I Am the Best" also managed to reach number one on Billboard's World Digital Songs chart. Many believe it is due to the song being used in the Microsoft Surface Pro commercial.

In August, the song was chosen to accompany the promotional video for Microsoft's new Surface Pro 3 tablet laptop as compared to Apple's Macbook Air. The commercial will air on television for six months while the song will accompany the video on the Internet and other media for a year.

But 2NE1 are not unaccustomed to receiving international recognition.

In September, YouTube released a playlist called "The Evolution of Girl Groups." Amongst names like Destiny's Child, Spice Girls and TLC, 2NE1's 2011 hit "I Am the Best" was included in the streaming video website's playlist.

Congratulations to 2NE1.
