Comic legend Joan Rivers cause of death "resulted from a predictable complication of medical therapy," according to the city medical examiner report, the New York Daily News stated.

Quoting a statement from Julia Bolcer of the city medical revealed, "the oxygen supply was cut off" resulting the cardiac arrest.

Rivers was at the clinic for endoscopy and her throat checked "for evaluation of voice changes and gastroesophageal reflux disease," Bolcer was quoted as saying in the report.

Melissa Rivers, Joan's daughter did not comment on the medical report but stated," we continue to be saddened by our tragic loss and grateful for the enormous outpouring of love and support from around the world," she was quoted as saying.

Rivers was 81 when she died Sept. 4 after going into cardiac arrest in an endoscopy clinic in Yorkville, but at that time the cause of death was not determined.

The doctor who performed the surgery was later known as Gwen Korovin, an ear, and nose and throat doctor.

However Rivers might have bid us goodbye but her legacy will live on with 'Fashion Police.'

Mashable earlier reported that E! TV Channel has said that 'Fashion Police' will be back on air next year, the announcement though did not include who will replace Rivers.

The network in a statement stated, "we are deeply saddened by the loss of Joan Rivers and, for the last two weeks, have turned our attention to honoring her memory on all of our platforms."

It added, "we have also thought long and hard about what Joan would have wanted as it pertains to the future of 'Fashion Police.' We decided, with Melissa Rivers' blessing, that Joan would have wanted the franchise to continue."

Her E also gave Rivers a fitting tribute by her E News family by showcasing footages of the legend and the shows, which made people laugh throughout the years.
