Dustin Diamond Arrested In Wisconsin For Alleged Stabbing: Screech From 'Saved By The Bell' Actor Charged With Disorderly Conduct And Carrying A Concealed Weapon [PHOTO]

Dustin Diamond, best known as Screech from the 1990s sitcom "Saved by the Bell," was arrested this past Thursday in Wisconsin on the charges that he stabbed a man with a knife during a bar fight.

Diamond's problems began when police were called in at 11:15 p.m. Thursday night to a local bar, the Grand Ave. Saloon, after a 37-year-old man "had stabbed another male patron and left the bar."  ABC News reports that a stiletto folding knife with a 3.75-inch blade was later recovered by police in the vehicle Diamond was a passenger in early the next day.

Documents obtained from the district attorney's office confirmed that Diamond was the man in question. When questioned by the police, Diamond claimed that "there was a group of intoxicated people being rude and insulting." After an altercation that his girlfriend had with another woman, Diamond said that he saw her bleeding, and chose to intervene. Supposedly, he did not intentionally stab the man at the bar, but "chaos broke out and people were grabbing at him," causing him to do so.

The victim of the stabbing suffered a blow to his right armpit, but police said the wound was not life threatening and he was recovering at home Friday.

NBC News reports that the 37-year-old appeared in court Friday on a charge of second-degree recklessly endangering safety, a felony, as well as misdemeanor charges of carrying a concealed weapon and disorderly conduct. A judge set his bail at $10,000.

According to the Associated Press, Diamond's next hearing is scheduled for Dec. 29. His fiancée, 27-year-old Amanda Schutz, also faces a disorderly conduct charge. His agent declined comment Friday morning, and no attorney was listed in court records.
