K-Pop Crossover: 2NE1's 'I Am The Best' Invades The Grammy Awards Thanks To Microsoft Commercial

2NE1 were not present at the Grammy Awards, but perhaps hearing their music on television would suffice this year.

During the CBS broadcast of the 2015 Grammy Awards, a commercial aired for Microsoft's Surface Pro 3 featuring 2NE1's "I Am the Best," which caught many K-pop fans by surprise.

"2NE1's 'I Am the Best' being heard during the biggest music awards show is brilliant," tweeted Schitstainz on Twitter. "Each winner is deserving because they are the best."

Currently, Microsoft's commercial has been broadcasting online and on television, and many observers have caught on to 2NE1's 2011 smash hit despite not knowing Korean or K-pop in general.

"I can't be the only one who loves the music in that Microsoft commercial," tweeted Tom Wassell on Oct. 26.

Last fall, Billboard reported that radio stations in New York and Boston have begun playing "I Am the Best" as the track continues to receive global attention due to the commercial. In the week ending Oct. 19, the anthemic 2NE1 single was reportedly played 24 times on WBMP New York and 14 times on WODS Boston.

This could be a nice introduction to the group as 2NE1's lead rapper Lee "CL" Chaerin prepares for her solo American debut.

According to Koreaboo, CL has been in the States since Jan. 13 and will remain here until early February. Reportedly, her record label YG Entertainment has set up a headquarters in the country in order to facilitate the process.

The female rapper is rumored to be working with Sean Garrett, Diplo, Skrillex, Florence and the Machine, among others. Her debut will be overseen by talent manager Scooter Braun, known for working with Psy, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande.

Recently, CL also confirmed her appearance on the Black Eyed Peas' 20th anniversary album.
