Actor Ryan Gosling Could Have Been a Backstreet Boy?

Kevin, Brian, A.J., Nick, Howie, and Ryan?

Actor Ryan Gosling's life would surely have been very different if he took up A.J. McClean's offer to be a part of the Backstreet Boys, quite possible the biggest boy band in the 1990s.

Back when the band was forming, Gosling lived in the same Orlando apartment complex with McClean, who asked him to be a part of the group. At that time, Gosling was starring on Disney's hit show, The Mickey Mouse Club, alongside future pop sensations Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, and Christina Aguilera.

"A.J. was saying how big there were going to be, and he had a poster of them in his house," Gosling shared in a recent interview. "We were like, 'It's never going to happen. You're a little late.' I was wrong."

Gosling also revealed that he tried to reach out to McLean after the Backstreet Boys became famous but that he never heard back.

In an interview with TMZ, McLean apologized to Gosling, saying that he didn't mean to blow him off.

"If we ever want a sixth Backstreet Boy member, I'm gonna call you," McClean said. "You can sing." He also called Gosling a great actor and a handsome man.

"My wife is obsessed," he added.
