U-KISS Jakarta Concert Postponed, Kevin, Soohyun Still Arrives To Support Flood Victims

U-KISS Soohyun and Kevin arrived in Soekarno-Hatta international airport, Jakarta, at 4PM one day prior to the scheduled press con day. They were invited to a special interview with a local TV station that night.  The press conference was scheduled to bring to light the reason behind the postponement of the scheduled U-KISS concert in Jakarta on that same day.

Although the press conference started at 10.30AM, some KISSMEs had already come to the venue even before the mall was opened.  They were so excited to meet their idols, U-KISS members Kevin and Soohyun. When the press con was about to start, fans gathered around the venue and tried to be as close as possible to see their beloved idols.

The press con started with the MC calling out all the panelists. The panelists were:

-     Kim Young Hoon, CEO from OppaOppa Live(promoter of the U-KISS concert)

-     Priscilla Christine, from Wahana Visi Indonesiam, representative from the charity recipient

-     Benny Purnomo, Director of Distribution Network from Bank Mutiara.

-     U-KISS Soohyun and Kevin.

During the press con, they talked about the reschedule of U-KISS Showcase and Fan-party in Jakarta from February 1- 2 2013 to April 26- 27 2013.  The press con was distinctly divided into two parts.  First, there was the official statement about the concert and charity event from OppaOppa Live and NH Media and the last half was an open Q&A session.

Mr. Kim Young Hoon stated that the showcase and fan-party were rescheduled because of the bad weather and flood in Jakarta. The postponement of the event is also to show concern for the victims of flood. They also worry about the safety of fans if the showcase was forced to be held as planned in February. Mr. Kim apologized for the postponement and he wished that in April, the showcase and fan-party event will be more exciting for KISSME.

Their concern for the victims can be shown through their participation and conversion of the event to a charity event. OppaOppa Live pledged to donate 10,000IDR (~$1 USD) for each ticket sold to Wahana Visi Indonesia. The donation will be given directly to the flood victims. Also, children who were flood victims will also receive the donations directly from U-KISS.

PART II Q&A session

1. With the postponement, is there any change of the concept of event and the benefits for different ticket holders?

Mr. Kim: There were some benefits like hugs and kisses from UKISS. Even the fans who buy cheap tickets will also get a chance to take part in the lucky draw. In April, there's a possibility for some additional benefits for ticket holders. So wait for U-KISS on April 26 and 27.

2. Why was Wahana Visi Indonesia chosen as the charity recipient?

Miss Priscilla: Wahana Visi Indonesia is a humanitarian organization which is focused to children.  There are children that we served in Jakarta who are victims of flood. We are very grateful that U-KISS was willing to come to Indonesia, especially Jakarta, to care and give the donations directly to the children in Penjaringan, North Jakarta. Thank you so much to U-KISS for the support.

3. For Bank Mutiara who cooperate with U-KISS for the charity event.

Mr. Benny: This is a great opportunity for Bank Mutiara to attract attention and concern from Indonesian people. Even Korean idols are willing to help the children of flood victims, so we hope Indonesian people can have the same or even more attention.

Then, it was U-KISS turn to say something. U-KISS greeted the fans and media by saying "Apa kabar?" which means "how are you?" and then Soohyun said "what's up Indonesia?" which made all fans scream.

4. What do you feel about the rescheduling considering that you have already prepared for this showcase?

Kevin: It was a really hard decision for us to make because we already scheduled the fanmeeting and showcase in Jakarta, and we also know that the fans were really looking forward to the showcase. We didn't want to disappoint our fans but we heard about the flood and the bad weather condition in Jakarta. We're really concerned and worried about the safety of our fans so we decided to reschedule our fan meeting and showcase to April 27. We really care for you and we hope you will be safe. And please know that we always will be there for you. Thank you.

5. What do you expect for the charity session?

Soohyun:  We're sorry that today we came here not for a concert or showcase but for charity. We know there are so many flood victims in Indonesia and Jakarta. So we want all people to know that Indonesia now needs help. But we're happy that all the fans here are safe.

6. U-KISS has come to Indonesia twice. In 2011, U-KISS had come to Medan for a showcase. Is there anything different about what you feel to be here in Jakarta and last year in Medan?

Kevin: We're so glad to come back for a second time to Indonesia. This time it's different because it's not for a showcase but we came for a charity event. We really hope that we can help as much as we can and give support.

7. Would you give some encouragement words for fans, especially the flood victims?

Soohyun:  We're really happy that we got the chance to come to Indonesia. We already heard and saw the news so we want to help the victims of flood also. I'm very worried about their safety. Even though not all the U-KISS members are here, I hope me and Kevin can help comfort the victims in Indonesia. We are also happy that we can join the charity event like this. Indonesian fans, Indonesian KISSME, I love you!

Kevin: We also want to thank our KISSME fans that always support us. We're so glad that we can come to Jakarta to help the victims of flood. We care for the fans and also the people in Indonesia. Hope you are all looking forward to our showcase in April. See you guys there! Saya cinta kamu!

We also got the news about the flood from our fans through Twitter and Facebook, so we're worried. That's why we want to come here and support you guys.

8. Does the postponement of showcase to April bother your overall schedules?

Soohyun:  We have no problem regarding the postponement. And we are also happy that today we can meet fans from Indonesia.

9. Do you have any special event as an addition for the showcase in April?

Kevin: As you know we will have a comeback in March, so when we come back here in April we will be able to perform our new song. We also hope that we can interact with our fans. We hope to get closer with you guys and see each other one by one.

The press conference ended with a photo session among all panelists.  The charity auction event began an hour after the press conference
