HBO and Verizon announced on Tuesday a new partnership allowing Verizon broadband customers to sign up for the Internet-only HBO Now service, starting immediately.

According to TIME, the TV giant finally obliged launching HBO Now in April at a price of $14.99 per month. At the beginning, however, HBO Now was available exclusively on Apple TV and Optimum.

Cablevision already lets customers buy in, and users can also order the service via in-app purchase on Android smartphones and iOS. Starting immediately, Verizon's broadband internet customers (FiOS and otherwise) can start a 30-day free trial and access HBO Now across Android, iOS, Apple TV, PC, Mac, and Amazon's Fire TV hardware and is now available via verizon.com/hbonow.

After the introductory free 30-day period ends, subscribers would pay $14.99 per month to keep the Internet-only service, which offers instant access to the usual HBO content, including series like "Game of Thrones" and hundreds of movies and sports and comedy specials.

The Verge reported that Verizon is also planning to sell the service to Verizon Wireless customers, exact date is still unknown. Once it does, HBO Now will be opened up to 100 million Verizon Wireless customers. And HBO Now will see some level of integration with the company's own upcoming video service, Go90. Verizon says that's "coming soon."

FiOS TV customers don't get the option of subscribing to HBO Now; Verizon will only let them buy proper HBO that includes access to HBO Go.

Verizon's press release also suggests that HBO - specifically, "HBO content" - will also be coming to the new "over the top" video service it is planning for its wireless service, but that's a bit deceptive, re/code wrote.

HBO Now won't be a core part of Verizon's new service, since that one will be free and ad-supported. Instead, HBO may distribute some of its shows as samplers on the service - the same way it already does on free video platforms like YouTube and Facebook.
