Weeks after the death of Toby Sheldon—famous for undergoing $100,000 worth of cosmetic surgery to look like Justin Bieber—and much of his tragic passing is still shrouded in mystery.

Originally, 35-year-old was reported missing after he was last seen in West Hollywood on Aug. 8. His body was subsequently discovered in a motel room in the San Fernando Valley on Aug. 21.

"I am beyond devastated to have heard the news about Tobias," said his spokesperson according to The Mirror.

"Tobias was a kind, caring, and gentle soul that was dedicated and passionate to his music and career. For all the slings and arrows put forth against him, he always held his head high, treated everyone with respect, and had a warmth and glow to him that made anyone around him smile... My condolences go out to his family."

So far, the cause of death has not been confirmed by the coroner, although drugs were allegedly found in the motel room.

"We are unsure if it is an accident or suicide," Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter said to TMZ. "The investigation is ongoing."

According to friend Mel Espinoza shortly after he was reported missing, no note was left and a disappearance like this is "very unusual for him."

Reportedly, Sheldon recently split from his boyfriend.

In addition to being known for being a Justin Bieber look-alike, Sheldon also found fame as a reality star on E!'s "Botched" and TLC's "My Strange Addiction."

"Even in my teens I thought, 'I never want to grow old and saggy and ugly,'" said Sheldon on "The Doctors."

"Nowadays, I think aging is an option. You have the possibility to do all those things, and if you have the money and are willing to invest the time and the pain, you can [do it]."
