'Dragon Ball Super' English Dub Preview To Be Revealed At New York Comic Con 2015?

It has long been a running joke among English-speaking "Dragon Ball" fans that despite her impeccable ability, it's still a bit awkward to hear her voicing several male characters.

Please feel free to debate the problems with this preference in the comments.

Nevertheless, since the announcement of "Dragon Ball Super," English fans have been waiting patiently for the announcement of either a simulcast or an English dub version. According to reports, "Dragon Ball Z" licensor Funimation will be hosting a panel at this year's New York Comic Con with English dub voice cast members Sean Schemmel and Cristopher R. Sabat.

Since the panel is entitled "Funimation Presents: Dragon Ball Z (And Beyond)," can fans expect a preview of a "Dragon Ball Super" English dub?

So far, fans in an ANN forum seem to believe that this panel will mark the announcement of an English dub and that it may air on the Cartoon Network Toonami programming block.

"I guess they'll announce that they have the license at Comic Con. And maybe it will be on Toonami," said Raebo101.

Other fans however are speculating about the large delay in news about a Western release of "Dragon Ball Super" in comparison to other series.

"My guess is that there was some term that was unacceptable to Funimation (like the asking price being too high) and they couldn't come to an agreement until recently," said Leafy Sea Dragon.

The problems with licensing can definitely become troublesome, especially in what anime expert Justin Sevakis is calling a period of a "market bubble." It certainly seems there had to be a disagreement since thanks to technology, Funimation has usually managed to air series' within the same week (if not the same day) that it premieres in Japan.

Whatever the reason for the delay, here's hoping for fans of the English dub "Dragon Ball" actors that Funimation makes a huge announcement at the 2015 New York Comic Con.
