Michael Schumacher's Health Condition Unknown As Signed Ferrari May Get Less At Auction

The Michael Schumacher-signed Ferrari that is headed to auction block might get less than the published price as the F1 champion's health condition remains unknown.

According to Motor Authority, the 2006 Ferrari FXX boasts of the signature by Michael Schumacher but still that won't hit the published price of $3 million the car would have cost back in 2006.

"The track-only models were originally sold through the FXX program, where Ferrari VIPs essentially paid to become development drivers," it said. And this one comes à la carte, without the track-side support and ongoing factory-performed maintenance, hence the discount."

The website said that Michael Schumacher's Ferrari would fetch somewhere around $2.2 million.

"And while it's nearly ten years old, the FXX remains a formidable track weapon. The naturally aspirated V-12 produces 809 horsepower, and the car benefits from numerous bits of F1-derived technology. It has been owned by a collector since 2007, when it was purchased directly from Ferrari. Only 1,500 miles are on the clock."

Nevertheless, there's one reason that the Ferrari FXX might get more if only for Michael Schumacher's health condition which remains unknown up to this point.

"Coincidentally, FXX 30/30-the only one in black-was built specifically for Schumacher, who is currently recovering from a devastating skiing accident suffered in December of 2014," it said.

The family has imposed a news blackout on Michael Schumacher's health condition, which explains the lack of updates about how the seven-time F1 champ is really doing.

When Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo was inducted into racing the hall of fame, he paid tribute to Michael Schumacher, who won the trophy seven times.

"I don't know if I would have received this award without him. It is dedicated to him, because he is trying to win his toughest race." he said of the 7-time F1 champion.
