Nickelodeon's 'The Splat' Channel Brings Back '90s Cartoon Favorites, What Retro Cartoon Show Are You Hoping Will Come Back?

Nickelodeon’s “The Splat” is the new channel that will bring back some of the old favorites on the small screen.

With so many new cartoons being released, millenials won’t understand the nostalgia that the older cartoons bring to the ‘90s kids. Nickelodeon’s “The Splat” is going to be a blast from the past where the channel will be devotes to all the retro Nick shows millenials have never had the chance to experience.

According to USA Today, A new Youtube channel made specifically for Nickelodeon’s “The Splat” uploaded a teaser with a mash-ups of some familiar retro Nick shows.

The teaser video was a montage of various clips from “The Rugrats,” “The Ren And Stimpy Show,” “Cat Dog,” “Rocko’s Modern Life,” “Rocket Power,” “Hey, Arnold!,” “The Wild Thornberrys” and so many more.

EW reported that “The Splat” logo made its appearance at ‘90s Fest, an event that took place in Brooklyn, New York last Sept. 12, 2015.

With the news of the comeback of the ‘90s toons, older generations are hoping that more of the retro shows would make it on the channel. Rumors of reboots of some of the retired and finished cartoons have been buzzing about the Internet, but Nickelodeon isn’t denying any of them.

The reason behind why Nickelodeon is bringing back the older cartoons may be because they allegedly want to get more ratings. Modern technology has drawn viewers away from the television sets to the convenience of computers. Nickelodeon’s “The Splat” probably aims to get more viewers by instilling nostalgia with the old Nick toons.
