GTX 980 Ti Release Date News And Specs: NVIDIA will be changing the GPUs it puts into notebooks. GPUs are designed for a notebook computer's thermally constrained environment but NVIDIA's new full desktop-class GTX 980 (with 2048 cores) will be available in MXM format for notebooks.

The newt laptop-dedicated GTX 980 will work for the new Ubisoft games Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege or Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

"Enabling ultra settings and GameWorks effects at higher resolutions will require serious pixel-pushing prowess, as you can imagine, so for many an upgrade will be in order," Nvidia wrote to their web page.

Nvidia's Maxwell GPU is being designed for the mobile and consumer markets first. NVIDIA optimized the 28nm process with a focus on efficiency. The GTX 980 and GM204 will be featured in the GTX 980 Ti and Titan X models.

Nvidia's new launch is being touted as the fastest GeForce GTX graphics card ever. The graphics card will feature two GM200 class GPUs. This is the same GPUs that Nvidia uses to power its GeForce GTX Titan X and GTX 980 Ti graphics cards.

Nvidia will offer Bullets or Blades bundle, which lets gamers choose from two top titles: Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Syndicate or Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, with some of its 900-series graphics cards or notebooks.

To get the free game, gamers have to buy an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti, GTX 980, or GTX 970 graphics card, or a gaming laptop with a GTX 970M or higher discrete graphics.

Nvidia latest GTX980Ti reference card, the 'EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti Superclocked+ ACX 2.0+ ships with a 6+2 power phase, custom cooler and a custom backplate. EVGA has over eight different GTX 980 Ti cards.

Korean website HWBattle reported that the GeForce GTX 980 Ti will come with 2,816 CUDA cores, less than the GTX Titan X, which has 3,072 CUDA cores on. The chip will have 176  of texture mapping units as opposed to the GTX Titan X, which has 192. The GTX 980 Ti will use the GM200-310 GPU, which is less powerful than the Titan card's GM200-400 GPU.

Assassin's Creed Syndicate will be available on November 19. Rainbow Six Siege will launch on December 1.
