Nook Glowlight Plus Is Upgraded, Lighter And Can Even Be Used Underwater

Nook Glowlight Plus makes e-reading less of a hassle with new features that make it easy to bring virtually anywhere.

Books are here to stay but e-readers make reading convenient for those who are on the go and aren’t able to lug around extra weight in their bag. While it may look like a normal tablet, e-readers make reading possible anywhere. It can even be easy to read in broad daylight.

Nook Glowlight Plus is one of the few readers out in the market. Other e-reader brands are the Kindle and the Kobo.

According to Digital Trends, the Nook Glowlight Plus was revamped by going with aluminum back plate in a bronze color as compared to a rubbery or glossy finish. It is also made of sturdy white plastic that is easy to grip while reading and it is also very light at 6.9 ounces.

It is reportedly even lighter than the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite and the Kobo Aura H20.

“It has a high-resolution, E Ink screen with 300 dpi, enhanced contrast, and twice as many pixels as the original Nook GlowLight. The 6.4-inch screen doesn’t have any glare, and text looks crisp and clear on the virtual page,” as reported by the article.

“B&N offers adjustable ambient lighting so the Nook doesn’t blind you when you’re in a dim room or reading at night. You can choose between a number of hand-crafted fonts, too, in case you don’t like the look of the default text.”

Apart from the upgrades that make reading easier and more comfortable, the battery allows for 6 hours of reading before needing to charge provided it the brightness is set at 30-percent.

The best upgrade of this e-reader is that it is waterproof and dust-proof. The device can actually be submerged in water at a depth of a meter for up to 30 minutes, as reported on Mashable. This means it is 100-percent safe to bring to the beach and even to your bathtub.

The Nook Glowlight Plus is available on Barnes & Noble for $129.99.
