What You Need To Know About The All American Meats Ground Beef Recall Due To Possible E. coli

Have you bought ground beef recently? Here's what you need to know about the massive USDA recall regarding ground beef from All American Meats.

According to CNN Money, more than 160,000 pounds of ground beef processed by All American Meats in Omaha, Nebraska are being recalled due to potential E. coli contamination.

Check that package of ground beef you just bought:

Does it have a sell by date of Nov. 3?

Does it have the establishment number "EST. 20420" on the USDA mark of inspection?

Then it might be part of the recall.

According to a press release from the USDA, the problem was discovered on Oct. 30 when a sample tested positive for the bacteria.

"Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them," the USDA stated.

According to U.S. News, beef with the following labels should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase:

  • 80-lb. (approximate weight) boxes of "Ground Beef 80% Lean 20% Fat (Fine Grind)" with Sell By Date 11-03-2015 and case code 62100.

  • 80-lb. (approximate weight) boxes of "Ground Beef 73% Lean 27% Fat (Fine Grind)" with Sell By Date 11-03-2015 and case code 60100.

  • 60-lb. (approximate weight) boxes of "Ground Beef Round 85% Lean 15% Fat (Fine Grind)" with Sell By Date 11-03-2015 and case code 68560.

  • 60-lb. (approximate weight) boxes of "Ground Beef Chuck 81% Lean 19% Fat (Fine Grind)" with Sell By Date 11-03-2015 and case code 68160.

  • 60-lb. (approximate weight) boxes of "Ground Beef Chuck 81% Lean 19% Fat (Fine Grind)" with Sell By Date 11-03-2015 and case code 63130.

  • 80-lb. (approximate weight) boxes of "Ground Beef Chuck 81% Lean 19% Fat (Fine Grind)" with Sell By Date 11-03-2015 and case code 63100.

So far, there have been no confirmed reports of illness connected with the recall.
