Girls' Generation singer-actress Im Yoona will be appearing with top star Hyun Bin in the action movie with a tentative title of Cooperation.

As suggested by its tentative title, Cooperation revolves around a plot where North and South Korea will have to work together in a secret investigation, reports The Korea Times.

Hyun Bin plays the lead role of a North Korean investigator, while Yoo Hae Jin plays the South Korean investigator.

Yoona will take on the role of Yoo's sister-in-law.

With Cooperation having a reported budget of 10 billion won or roughly US$8.5 million and Hyun Bin and Yoona in major roles in the film, studio JK Film is hoping to produce another smash hit after its wartime drama Ode to My Father raked in more than 14 million viewers last year.

Online commenters had mixed feelings about the casting of Yoona, in particular. Supporters were thrilled at the pairing of the handsome actor and the beautiful idol.

"It's going to be hard to focus going from Hyun Bin to Yoon," "Hyun Bin and Yoona ~ Looking forward to it," said fans, according to translations from Netizenbuzz.

But detractors believe that Yoona's casting will lead to disaster.

"Another SM kid ruining another movie," said one fan, referring to Yoona's agency, SM Entertainment, while another critic said: "This casting news... brings me lots of worries... I'm going to go insane, seriously."
