Thanksgiving 2015 Traffic: Times And Roads To Avoid This Coming Holiday

Thanksgiving 2015 traffic may reportedly be better the day before Turkey Day according to a study but authorities still warn motorists which road to avoid at what time to avoid getting a horrible journey for the holiday.

According to a report on WTOP, Tuesday of the Turkey Day week was the new Wednesday for this year. Oftentimes, many travelers get stuck on the road on Wednesday but one study mentioned that in a bid to avoid traffic a day before the holiday itself, some motorists have opted travelling two days ahead instead. The result: more vehicles on the road from the usual.

"It has been a crazy midday so far," TOP Director of Traffic and Weather Jim Battagliese said about the traffic in Washington on Tuesday.

"If people can waiting until 8 p.m. to leave, that would be great - barring any traffic incidents," he even advised.

But according to Seattle PI, Wednesday remains the worst time to travel for Thanksgiving 2015 as traffic would be heavy. Based on data from Google Maps, it was concluded that the worst hours for traffic jams was between 2 to 5 in the afternoon on a Wednesday. As such, the report advises motorists to go on the road before or after those times.

The Denver Post also warned motorists in the city to be off the road at 3 in the after come Wednesday. Based on Google data as well, the Colorado city currently was the 12th among the places that has experience the worst Thanksgiving traffic in the past.

For Time though, the simple solution to avoiding the Thanksgiving 2015 traffic was to travel on the actual holiday. Using data from Waze, they also mentioned that travelers should also bear in mind that they will face slow moving roads come Sunday as well. As such 1 and 6 in the afternoon were the times that motorists should avoid being on the road.
