The Detroit Pistons are missing one of their key players from last season, Brandon Jennings but the point guard is saying that he is now ready to play, even if he begins in the D-League.

Jennings has been out of the line-up since last season due to an Achilles tendon rupture injury but he is looking forward to get back to shape so that he can play basketball again.

"There's about an 80% chance I will be playing in the D-League on Saturday," he said. "I don't care. I just want to play, man. I just want to get out there and hoop and see where it's at."

The Pistons current floor general is Reggie Jackson, who is doing a great job backing up star center Andre Drummond on the offensive end. This led many to think that Jennings is now expendable and that the Pistons are looking to move him.

Those rumors, however, were immediately denied by head coach and team president Stan Van Gundy, as they see Jennings as a valuable asset for their franchise.

"We haven't one talk with anybody about him," Van Gundy said via MLive. "I just think that people assume that with Reggie (Jackson) here and the way Brandon played last year, I think people just make that assumption. He's no more or less available than anybody else we have."

But he also said that he will keep an open eye once Jennings returns to the basketball court.

"Until he's back on the court and playing, there's nothing to even talk about," Van Gundy said. "My preference is, that when he's fully healthy, he's able to help us. That's my preference. I've even talked to him about a vision going forward where he helps us even beyond this. But right now, we're just trying to get him back."
