Hollywood actor and musician Jack Black has been confirmed to make an appearance on an upcoming episode of the top-rated South Korean variety program "Infinite Challenge." 

According to a statement given by a broadcast insider on Dec. 29, Jack Black will make an appearance on a January episode of the variety show in order to promote his upcoming animated movie "Kung Fu Panda 3."

Jack Black is well known for his sharp wit and slapstick comedy, which has built antipation among Korean fans who are looking forward to his participation in the program.

Korean internet users were ecstatic to see the actor set to join the cast of "Infinite Challenge" as a special guest, leaving positive remarks about how well Black fits the program and that this episode would be "legendary."

Although "Infinite Challenge" has a large cast of top Korean stars, plenty of foreign celebrities have made appearances on the show. Non-Korean celebrities who have previously guest-starred on "Infinite Challenge" include tennis star Maria Sharapova, MMA fighter Fedor Emelianenko, and professional soccer player Thierry Henry.  

Last December, Jack Black also made Korean entertainment headlines when the members of K-pop band SHINee ran into the Hollywood star at Seoul's Gimpo Airport and shared pictures with him on social media.
