ALPHA DRIVE ONE has made K-pop history by becoming the first male group in nine years to win a triple crown on all three major South Korean broadcast music shows with their debut song "Freak Alarm."
The rookie boy group, formed through Mnet's survival show "Boys II Planet," secured victories on KBS "Music Bank," MBC "Show! Music Core," and SBS "Inkigayo" within two weeks of their official debut on January 12, 2026.
The eight-member group—consisting of Leo, Junseo, Arno, Geonwoo, Sangwon, Xinlong, Anxin, and Sanghyeon—also won their first music show trophy on MBC M's "Show Champion" on January 21, bringing their total to four wins.
The achievement marks a significant milestone in K-pop history. The last male group to accomplish this feat was Wanna One in 2017 during their debut promotions with "Energetic." Among girl groups, NewJeans was the most recent act to achieve a similar debut sweep in 2022, according to mk.
ALPHA DRIVE ONE claimed their third trophy on the January 24 broadcast of "Show! Music Core," where their debut track "Freak Alarm" earned 7,192 points, defeating nominees ILLIT's "NOT CUTE ANYMORE" and ENHYPEN's "Knife." The group completed the sweep with a fourth win on "Inkigayo" on January 25, scoring 5,023 points against competitors WOODZ's "Drowning" and LE SSERAFIM's "SPAGHETTI," soompi reported.
The group's debut mini album "Euphoria" has also achieved commercial success, selling 1,441,270 copies in its first week. This figure represents the second-highest first-week sales for a debut album in Hanteo Chart history, following ZEROBASEONE's "YOUTH IN THE SHADE" from 2023. ALPHA DRIVE ONE became only the third K-pop group to surpass one million first-week sales with a debut album.
Members expressed their gratitude during their acceptance speeches, telling fans "We love you, ALLYZ" and promising to "work even harder every day to become an ALPHA DRIVE ONE that you can be proud of," as per allkpop.
ALPHA DRIVE ONE operates under a five-year contract with WakeOne Entertainment and debuted after gaining significant pre-debut attention, including performances at the 2025 MAMA Awards and 2025 Melon Music Awards.
