Girl group AOA is planning to hit the ground running in 2016 with comebacks as a full group and their band subunit, AOA Black. 

On Jan 1, an insider who works with AOA informed Korean media outlet Star News that the group is currently preparing their upcoming album. "Although the AOA members are all busy with activities, they gather to record their new album when they have time." 

"They frequently meet to record songs and practice choreography to prepare for a comeback in the first half of 2016," the insider continued.

Although a few of the members were extremely busy with solo activites in 2015, the insider revealed that the focus for 2016 will be on AOA as a group. "Seolhyun, Choa, and Jimin had a lot of solo activities last year, but this year we are planning to do even more group promotions."

News about the eighth member of AOA, Youkyung, was also revealed. "In addition to practicing choreography, the members are also preparing for a subunit band comeback with Youkyung." 

AOA Black is the band subunit of AOA that includes Jimin, Choa, Yuna, Youkyung, and Mina.

With the success of AOA in 2015, the group is looking to increase their popularity even further through both their unique sound and group activities.

The group released their last album, "Heart Attack," in June 2015.
