EXO's Xiumin was injured while filming MBC's "Star Idol Athletics Championships."

During the idol sporting event, Xiumin (Kim Min Seok) was hurt during a futsal match. After being tackled by mixed martial artist Kim Dong Hyun, Xiumin reportedly needed aid to stand.

Following the incident, Xiumin was taken to a hospital and treated accordingly.

According to SM Entertainment, EXO's agency, Xiumin bruised but did not break his knee. The label said that he is wearing a half cast until he is recovered.

According to Netizenbuzz, which translated comments by fans who attended the filming as audience members, Xiumin received little medical treatment on the site of the event, but was helped by Kim Dong Hyun and the members of K-pop idol group VIXX.

In the past, "Idol Star Athletics Championship" has enraged fans due to the amount of heavy injuries sustained by idols.

The "12th Idol Star Athletics Championship" will air in South Korea during the Lunar New Year holiday in February.
