Mamamoo's Pre-Release Song 'Pride of 1cm (Taller Than You)' Is A Fun, Dre-Inspired Diss Track

The ladies of Mamamoo are back, with a hilarious take on social commentary.

On Wednesday, Mamamoo released their new song and matching music video for "Pride of 1cm." The new song, which features Mamamoo ridiculing the notion that unimportant things like height adjust social interactions, features a retro throwback sound inspired by none other than Dr. Dre.

The song, a pre-release of their upcoming album, is a comical take on the rising popularity of hip hop in Korea, with Mamamoo's vocalists trying their hand at rapping while dissing one another about their height.

As a follow up to the previously released the haunting track "Miss You," "Pride of 1cm" takes Mamamoo to the playful world they do well in, and gives them some beats to put their spit to.

"Pride of 1cm" blatantly takes cues from world-renowned producer Dr. Dre with similar beats and rap patterns to songs that he worked on, like Eminem's "Under The Influence" and Dre's collaboration with Snoop Dog, "Still D.R.E."

While not a straight up hip hop song, Mamamoo tries their best on "Pride of 1cm" to showcase new elements into the sound of arguably the best K-pop singers around.

The music video also is filled with hilarity as the ladies of Mamamoo pick on one another. A parody of the Korean rap survival show, Mnet's "Unpretty Rapstar" is also featured in the music video; one member of Mamamoo imitates rapper Jessi who rose to fame following her appearance on the show.

The quirky hip-hop style track is a cute pre-release from the group that lets them show a new side to their musical talent before the release of upcoming album "Melting," which will be released on Feb. 26.
