Popular KBS drama Descendants Of The Sun will not end its run immediately after the final episode is aired.

In order to show appreciation for the huge amount of support and love the drama has received, KBS has decided to air a three-part special about the program.

After the final episode is aired, the three-part special will air the following week for three days, from April 20 to 22 at 10 p.m. KST.

The broadcasts on April 20 and 21, the special will focus on highlighting some of the most important scenes of the drama by re-editing them while the last part of the special set to air on April 22 consists of an epilogue showing viewers a glimpse of the future between the onscreen couple of Song Joong-Ki and Song Hye-Kyo and a behind-the-scenes making video of the drama. 

Descendants Of The Sun will end it's 16-episode run on April 14. It will be replaced by Master: God Of Noodles, which will begin airing the week following the special on April 27. 

Meanwhile, the 11th episode of the drama, aired on March 30, surpassed 40 percent viewership, achieving a new record for the military romance drama.
