With the first half of 2016, behind us, it's time to take a look at the most popular music videos for the first half of the year. 

The competition this year was fierce, with rookie groups like Twice and GFriend taking some of the top spots. However, many positions in the top 10 were taken up by established male idol groups, like BTS and GOT7. 

As of June 1, the music video with the most views was "CHEER UP" by Twice, which was released on April 24. The music video reached a staggering 43 million views in little more than a month after release.

The No. 2 spot went to BTS's "Fire," which gained views at an astounding rate, breaking the 28 million mark in just one month after its May 1 release date. BTS is the only group to have two music videos in the top 10; their single "Save Me," released on May 15, was able to amass 13.75 million views in just two weeks.

No. 3 was taken up by GFriend, one of the most popular girl groups of the new generation. Their single "Rough," released on Jan 24, reached 24.5 million views. 

The other spots in the top 10 went to 4minute's "I Hate You," Taeyeon's "Rain," GOT7's "Fly," Suzy and Baekhyun's duet "Dream," Zico's "I Am You, You Are Me," Jessica's "FLY," and BTS's "Save Me."
