4Minute To Disband After 7-Year Contract Ends

One of K-pops longest-running groups, 4minute, has come to an end.

They are currently in the process of disbanding. Although they were in talks about re-signing their contract, none of the members have chosen to continue activities with 4minute.

Currently, only Hyuna has re-signed a contract with Cube Entertainment. Since there is still some time left on the members' contracts, the group has not technically disbanded. However, Cube has stated that they are about to end all activities as a group.

In a statement released by 4minute's agency Cube Entertainment on June 13, they revealed, "because the members all wanted to head in different directions, through acting, singing, and variety shows, we have decided that continuing the group would be very difficult."

Hyuna, the only member who has renewed their contract, is planning on continuing her career as a singer.

Meanwhile, Nam Jihyun will focus on acting in dramas and movies, which she already has some experience in.

4minute first debuted in 2009 with the single "Hot Issue."
