AOA's Jimin responds with apology over use of 'N-word' caught on video

Fans of AOA's Jimin were taken for a surprise when they heard their celebrity to have said the N-word during the lyrics in one of their performances. Jimin is getting heated up for a video she uploaded, a verse from Nicki Minaj and dropping the "N-Bomb" while doing so.

Many celebrities have landed in hot water for saying the N-word in recent years, and this continues to grow. Some of the celebrities had used the epithet, and they were angry when they said it. Some of them have used it as slang, and some had said so to make philosophical statements. Actors, musicians, reality stars are some of the celebrities on the list.

In a recent video, fans were surprised to hear AOA's Jimin saying the N-word. Covering the song "Get Like Me" by Nelly ft. Nicki Minaj and Pharrell Williams, Jimin performed Nicki Minaj's verse. She sang the lyrics, "My n**ga spend money like the coke price free," which stirred controversy among her fans.

The controversy grew further, and on Instagram a concerned fan sent a direct message to Jimin asking her to take the video down, Koreaboo noted. The N-word is widely considered to be very offensive to the black people.

The fan wrote, "Noona, you should not say the n-word. It is a bad and sad word for black people."

In English, Jimin wrote back that she did not know of this and apologized for saying so. The fan wrote back to her to be careful in whatever is said and stated that they love her. Jimin apologized again and later the video as been taken down.

On her Instagram account, there is still a debate if the N-word is a part of the lyric. Many fans are writing commentating and arguing with one another.

Jimin immediately deleted the video and to her fans, she sent an apology after receiving word from her fans on the controversy. The actual conversation went as below:

Fan: Noona!!! You can't say the N-word!! It's a very bad and hurtful word to black people

Jimin: - Apologizes -

Fan: Yes. It put you in a terrible position...please be careful what you say, I love your noona!

Jimin: - Apologizes -

Fans have however shared their doubt in the Instagram DM. It is rare for idols to respond to DMs and even more unusual for them to respond in English, especially, when the person interacting with them is using Korean. However, it could be very likely that she recognized her fault and apologized immediately.
