YG confirms Nam Tae Hyun's exit from WINNER

YG Entertainment is certainly breaking countless of hearts right now. Not only are they disbanding their premier girl group 2NE1, now it has been confirmed by YG themselves that Nam Tae Hyun will be departing from WINNER.

According to Koreaboo, YG has in fact confirmed that Nam Tae Hyun would be permanently leaving his group WINNER leaving multitudes of fans shocked, confused and heartbroken. Here is the full statement released by YG Entertainment:

"We had many things planned for WINNER this year but unfortunately they had to be put on hold because of Nam Tae Hyun's mental illness.

The rest of the members along with YG had prioritized Taehyun's mental health and had been waiting for his recovery. Sadly, since his mental illness has been present since Taehyun's childhood, it would be very difficult to predict when he will get better and finally be able to come back.

After discussing the matter with Taehyun, we have come to the conclusion that it would be impossible for him to return to activities together with WINNER and have ultimately decided to terminate the exclusive contract with Taehyun as of November 18.

The reason for this is that Taehyun felt that WINNER was put on hold because of him and also the fact that WINNER has only been two years into their careers that is why they cannot forego their activities any longer.

While Taehyun may not be associated with WINNER anymore, we do hope that they remain supportive of each other in each of their own musical endeavors.

WINNER will be continuing as a four-member group without plans of adding a new member. Please show them both support as they restart their careers once again."

If you can remember, last month it was announced by YG that Nam Tae Hyun's mental health was becoming worse and for that, plans for WINNERS comeback have been put on hold in order to give time for the singer to recover, according to a report by Allkpop. Unfortunately, this may not be the case anymore as he has been permanently booted out of the group.

Sad, yes, but this is the reality of life and show business. Let's just hope that YG Entertainment would get through the outrage that would follow after 2NE1's disbandment and Nam Tae Hyun's departure from WINNER.
