The entire K-Pop world was devastated when news broke out that the iconic K-Pop girl group 2NE1 had officially disbanded. However, it would seem that people aren't willing to move on yet as rumors about the group's rebranding continue to spread. Adding more fuel to the fire, 2NE1 member had recently liked a photo relating to the said rumor.

The said rumor in circulation is about 2NE1 saying that YG Entertainment is planning to rebrand their group as "XXI" which would still feature the three girls that remained after Minzy left, Koreaboo reports. These rumors have been spreading like wildfire in various social media platforms like Instagram where an account was made with the name 'XXI' but has no direct connection to YG Entertainment.

According to Yibada, YG Entertainment has been thinking of ways the public could forget about Park Bom's drug scandal which had definitely put her career into a halt and had greatly affected the entire group. YG thinks that the only thing that could ever be bigger than Bom's drug scandal is 2NE1's disbandment which would definitely make the fans yearn for them to get together.

As for XXI, the roman numerals are said to represent Bom, Dara and CL and have been used by 2NE1 in various music videos so it actually makes sense if YG would rebrand the girls under this name. Also, it would be hard to see 2NE1 without associating Minzy as she has been an integral member of the group so a rebranding would definitely be the best course of actions for the girls so that they could start fresh yet still retain the prestige and fame they had accumulated over the years.

Now a lot of fans would definitely call BS on this rumor. However, what's interesting is the fact that Park Bom herself liked this theory on Instagram which sparked all kinds of hope for the Blackjacks out there. After a few hours though, Park Bom unliked the image but fans were able to screen capture the image before she had 'unliked' it.

Countless fans would definitely want the girls to come back and most are probably entertaining this idea that YG is planning to rebrand 2NE1. Unfortunately, nothing has been confirmed and if worse comes to worst then 2NE1 would still remain disbanded. However, if this does happen then that would make YG the biggest troll of them all.
