iKON Is A Seven-Member Group Under YG Entertainment To Comeback

In 2015, iKON is a South Korean boy band formed by YG Entertainment. In the reality survival program the group WIN: Who is Next as "Team B" was first introduced. After that, in 2014 Team B went on to appear in the reality survival program Mix & Match, which determined the final seven-member lineup of iKon: B.I, Bobby, Jinhwan, Junhoe, Yunhyeong, Donghyuk and Chanwoo.

According to CEO Yang Hyun-suk of YG Entertainment, the group's name iKon is derived from the intent to become an 'icon for Korea'. The word "K" stands for Korea.

On 15 September the group made their first introduction through the digital release of their first single "My Type" from their first studio album Welcome Back. On 15 October 2015, their first broadcast live performance was on SBS's Inkigayo.

In 1996 YG Entertainment is a South Korean entertainment company established by Yang Hyun-suk. The company operates as a record label, talent agency, music production company, event management and concert production company, and music publishing house.

There was a variation in the selection process of the group and they were presented to the world through survival shows "WIN: Who is next", and 'Mix&Match".

The group's single debut was "My Type" was on September 2015: iKon has always ben well known despite never making official releases until late 2015.

Before the iKon's introduction, all the members met as trainees at YG Entertainment and all of them were put together for the survival program "WIN: Who is next"; firstly, they were a six member team in 2013 during the show (without Chanwoo).

Throughout "WIN" iKon was known as team B but team A took the title and became the group WINNER. Team B thus got the chance to be back up dancers for Taeyang in the video for "Ring linga".
