K-pop supergroup BTS is set to make a highly anticipated return to the American Music Awards (AMAs) with a special in-person appearance at the 2026 ceremony, marking their first live attendance at the event in several years.
The announcement was made by organizers CBS and Dick Clark Productions, confirming that the group will appear at the show on May 25 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
This appearance has quickly become one of the most talked-about moments leading up to the awards night, as fans eagerly await the group's return to a major US stage.
BTS is also nominated in three categories this year, including Artist of the Year, Song of the Summer, and Best Male K-pop Artist, KoreaHerald reported.
The group will compete in the top category alongside global stars such as Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny, Lady Gaga, and Justin Bieber, making the race for the biggest award especially competitive.
BTS has a long history with the AMAs. Their 2017 performance of "DNA" marked their US television debut at the ceremony, making them the first Korean act to perform on the show.
Since then, they have collected multiple awards and made history in 2021 when they became the first Asian act to win Artist of the Year.
