The Running Man, classified as an urban reality show will have been nearly seven years old by this year had the production not decided to end their weekly episode by February 2017. What started as news that leaked of a let go for two of its members Kim Jongkook and Song Jihyo created a stir among the cast.

Attempt to regroup

The furor came forth with a meeting in the production staff.  Communication flowed at the right course-  the two members will stay. However, the group closed with a decision that the show will be folding up by next month.

Many supporters of the reality show query on what led to this big decision. Reports assert that the program has dissipated in the rating game in Korea. Surprisingly, it has grown so popular in other places in Asia. per Star2.

Observers attribute the decline in patronage to factors that could have been attended to earlier on. One of them is the birth of shows who took a spin on Running Man's format like IN2D. While Running Man is solely a competition game, those that took after its format were covering not merely on a matching basis.

After the last episode in Spring 2017, there are fillers that disclose of  SBS sitting en banc with Running Man's production staff for a show that will likely feature some of its old cast.

While finishing with their last episodes, the group is all set for a January Running Man Asian tour until March 2017 but Gary and Yoo Jae Suk will not be with the group as they have other commitments scheduled per Yibada's report.

 Kim Jong-kook, Song Ji-Hyo, Haha, Ji Suk-jin, Lee Kwang-soo, and Gary comprise the original cast when the show opened in 2010.
