Lee Jong-suk ends Asian tour with White Day presents for Thai fans
Lee Jong-suk wrapped up his Asian tour "Variety" with a final stop in Thailand. Thousands of fans were able to meet-and-greet the South Korean Hallyu star.
According to Yonhap News, around 3,000 Thai fans gathered at the Thunder Dome in Bangkok to see Lee Jong-suk over the weekend. The "W" actor entertained his fans by inviting some of them to the stage and re-enacted a scene from the series.
"W" aired in Thailand in November 2106 via True4U. Lee Jong-suk earned various nominations and awards for his role as Kang Cheol, including the Top Excellence Award for Actor in a miniseries at the 36th MBC Drama Awards.
He admitted it was quite difficult for him to sing but serenaded his fans anyway. He even made an on-the-spot dance when the audience sang a Wonder Girls song.
Thai media noticed that Jong Suk wore a black ribbon during the second part of the fan meeting. Apparently, it was the actor's way of showing respect to the late King of Thailand Bhumibol Adulyadej who passed away last October after a long illness.
Meanwhile, Lee Jong-suk even prepared sweets and perfume for his fans. This was in time for the upcoming White Day, a holiday celebrated in many Asian countries a month after the Valentine's Day.
Lee Jong-suk thanked his fans for supporting him. He promised that he will definitely come back to Thailand.
He also held a press conference attended by more than 80 Thai media, Newsen reported. His "Variety" tour began in Korea last September. The actor also had his fan meetings in Japan, Singapore, and Taiwan.
He immediately headed back to Korea to prepare for his new drama. The actor will start filming "While You Were Sleeping" with Suzy this coming March 2.
Hancinema describes the drama as a fantasy romance about a woman who can foresee someone's misfortune and a prosecutor who wants to stop them. Kim So Hyun will make a special appearance in the drama.
