Everyone expected that the K-pop boy bands and girl groups will once again dominate the 6^th Gaon Chart K-pop Awards. With this, EXO, GOT7 and BTS just proved that they are still the faces of the K-pop industry as they topped the charts when it comes to the number of album sales.

The three boy bands all shared the Artist of the Year Award. This is thanks to EXO's album "EX'ACT", and GOT7's "Flight Log: Turbulence". This just proves that they had what it takes to show off their talents in a very consistent basis.

According to Korea Portal, BTS succeeded in the award thanks to their "Wings" album. Now that the three hottest boy bands of Korea have won an award, more and more fans are expected to go crazy over them over the course of the next few months.

Meanwhile, G-Friend, Jang Bum Joon, MAMAMOO and TWICE won the award for April and October. On the other hand, Urban Zakapa, Wonder Girls, SISTAR and BLACKPINK took the August and November awards all to themselves. Lim Chang Jung and BIG BANG then won the November award.

The event was indeed one of the best awards night of the Gaon Award ever since it first started. K-pop music has indeed evolved and became better through the course of so many years.

According to K-pop Music Times, NCT 127 and Blackpink won the Rookie of the Year honor. With this, one can then say that the three boy bands, EXO, BTS and GOT7 are all in for some good times.

Hopefully, they will still continue their trend in making good music and vibrant performances in the next few years to come. If one was to look at how they performed last year, it is very likely that they'll be in for more projects.Who knows, they may even unite as one group in the future.
