The talent of SISTAR's Hyorin is not going unnoticed in the world stage as the artist recently became the first K-pop star to sign with a major international label to pursue EDM music. Hyorin has signed a record deal with Spinnin' Records which is responsible for managing the careers of popular EDM acts in the world.

According to a report by Soompi, the SISTAR singer was snapped up by Dutch label Spinnin' Records to bring her EDM music to the attention of the world. The label also handles talents like Martin Garrix, Hardwell, and Tiesto.

The announcement was made by Starship Entertainment, which handles Hyorin's career as part of SISTAR. Starship and Spinnin', the biggest EDM record label in the world, will handle Hyorin's transition from K-pop to electronic dance music.

"The world's largest EDM record label Spinnin' Records signed a contract with Hyorin, the first Asian artist to ever do so, Starship announced. "A collaboration with Justin Oh will be released in March."

Justin Oh is a South Korean DJ who has brought EDM music in Korea to a different level. Oh is best known for releasing hot EDM tracks, playing in major venues like the ULTRA Korea and for collaborating with other artists from the music scene. He is not afraid to step out of his comfort zone to create new sound experiences and that is why he has constantly worked with K-pop artists to create a crossover and fusion music, All Kpop reported.

Hyorin will also be embarking on her first solo appearance as an EDM artist in the US in shows in New York and LA on March 18 and 19. She will also be joining South by Southwest, known as the biggest mix of film, interactive media and music festivals in the US. The event will be held in Austin, Texas this March.

Hyorin's transition to EDM does not really come as a surprise for fans of SISTAR as her versatility in singing the lead vocals and rapping has earned her the support and admiration of many K-pop fans. For more Kpop news, check out Kpopstarz.
