The Truth Behind Sunmi Leaving JYP for MAKEUS Entertainment

Sunmi, who was a member of the recently disbanded Wonder Girls, has just signed up with MAKEUS Entertainment. With this, she have left her long-time agency, JYP Entertainment.

MAKEUS Entertainment confirms the news and says that Sunmi had already signed an exclusive deal with the company. The signing of the contract happened last February.

Now, Sunmni is surely in new and unfamiliar waters as it will be a big deal to transfer from one company to another agency. According to All K-pop, MAKEUS Entertainment will fully support the growth and endeavors of Sunmi wherever she would like, as long as this would be for the betterment of her career.

This also means that Sunmi's projects in the music industry will still continue. With this, Sunmi says that it was the right thing for her to do as this will help her have a fresh and new image in the entertainment industry.

It will also allow her to discover more of herself as well as the innate talent that she has. She also adds that she is very thankful for the support that her fans are endlessly giving and showing to her.

According to Korea Times US, Wonder Girls has just disbanded last January. The last song of the girl group was "Draw Me", which marks their 10 years in the K-pop industry.

Meanwhile, Yubin and Hyerim who are co-members of Sunmi in Wonder Girls have renewed their contracts and signed a new deal with JYP Entertainment. They will also pursue their own solo careers.

Sunmi also says that he decision to sign up with a new deal in a new company will help her to show the other side of herself. With all of these being said, more surprises are surely upon us especially now that Sunmi will be out pursuing her solo career with a new company.
